Here is this week's Pac 12 power rankings that will appear in tomorrow's TNT. I make no apologies for where teams are ranked or if the comments are not funny or snarky.
PAC 12 Power rankings
Last week’s rankings in parentheses
1. Stanford 3-0 (1)
Horrible news about the loss of linebacker Shayne Skov for the season. He was not only the Cardinal’s best defensive player, but one of the Pac 12’s best as well. 2. Oregon 2-1 (2)
LaMichael James challenged media members questioning his speed to race him. That’s like the media members challenging him to a hot dog eating contest.
3. USC 3-0 (4)
Lane Kiffin swears he wasn’t running up the score against Syracuse with a late fourth-quarter TD pass, pointing out that he at least he didn’t go for two after it.
4. California 3-0 (5)
Freshman running back and one-time Washington commit Brendan Bigelow thinks he will get booed at Husky Stadium. Husky fans say, “Who?”
5. Utah 2-1 (7)
Jordan Wynn may have a new throwing motion like Uncle Rico off of Napoleon Dynamite, but he’s completing passes and Norm Chow’s offense is coming together.
6. Arizona State 2-1 (4)
The Sun Devils host USC in a key Pac 12 South game. Any bets on the number of penalties between the two teams, let’s put the over/under at 15.
7. Washington 2-1 (6)
Some Husky fans are calling for defensive coordinator Nick Holt to be fired. Then again, when haven’t Husky fans wanted a defensive coordinator fired?
8. Washington State 2-1 (9)
The Cougs had their hearts crushed in San Diego when they fell apart late. A bye week comes at a perfect time. Will Jeff Tuel be ready next Saturday for Colorado?
9. Arizona 1-2 (8)
The schedule stretch from hell continues with a visit from Oregon. Expect Mike Stoops will go beyond red and actually turn purple in frustration.
10. Colorado 1-2 (11)
Head coach Jon Embree finally got his first win as a Buffalo. It seems unlikely that win No. 2 will come this weekend Colorado travels to Ohio State.
11. UCLA 1-2 (10)
Rick Neuheisel can’t decide if he wants to redshirt prized QB recruit Brett Hundley. Guess it depends if he wants the chance to actually coach Hundley in a game.
12. Oregon State 0-2 (12)
It appears that James Rodgers will play this weekend, but the Beavers would need both James and Jacquizz to come back to turn this season around.
