Game Updates: Stanford 62, Washington 21(Final)

Final

Jeez, you go down to the field level for postgame interviews and Stanford throws up another score.

Final score is 65-21. It was the most points that the Huskies have allowed since the 65-7 loss to Miami in 2001.

Fourth Quarter

9:14 -- Stanford just scored again as Anthony Wilkerson rumbled in from about 15 yards out. Stanford now leads 55-21 and has 382 yards rushing.

Evan Hudson catches his first career pass and its for a 2-yard TD. Huskies cut it to 44-21.

Third quarter

11:16 -- Stanford puts together another solid drive, doing it all on the ground going 64 yards in just six plays.

Halftime:

Washington has gained 316 yards of total offense and is still down 24 points, that's ridiculous. Stanford has 355 yards of total offense and has not punted yet.

The Huskies tried to get one last score but a somewhat questionable personal foul penalty on Colin Tanigawa for a head slap, knocked them out of field goal range.

Second quarter

:56 -- It has gotten away from the Huskies. Keith Price throws a pick six to Michael Thomas, who had returned 62 yards for a touchdown. Price tried to force the ball into Jermaine Kearse and missed Devin Aguilar wide open over the middle.  Stanford leads 38-14

3:44 -- It might be getting away from the Huskies. Stanford scores aging. Stepfan Taylor breaks off a 24 yard run and big third down conversion pass set up Andrew Luck's 5-yard TD pass to Drew Terrell. Stanford leads 31-14

13:13 -- And Stanford answers on the first play as Stepfan Taylor goes 70 yards - UNTOUCHED - through the middle of the defense for a score. 24-14

13:34 -- Chris Polk continues to be a work horse. He gets a nice kickout block from Senio Kelemete and breaks free for a 61-yard TD run. Another nice downfield block from James Johnson to help Polk score. UW is down 17-14

14:26 -- Stanford is getting contributions from everyone. Backup running back Tyler Gaffney broke off a 24-yard run and 30-yard run and Andrew Luck converted on third down to Griff Whalen, and then Andrew Luck threw a perfect pass to Colby Fleener for a 1-yard TD. Stanford leads 17-7.

First quarter

3:00 -- Washington finally gets on the scoreboard. The converted twice on third down with passes to Devin Aguilar. Then Chris Polk breaks free on a draw play for a 46-yard TD run as Austin Seferian-Jenkins had two good blocks and Kevin Smith had a huge block to help spring him.  Stanford leads 10-7. Those are the first points Stanford has allowed in the first quarter this season.

6:46 -- The Huskies get a stop - sort of. After giving up a 32-yard pass to Griff Whalen on the first play, the Huskies find a way to limit Stanford to a field goal. Sean Parker had a big pass break up on third down and Stanford had to settle for a 39-yard field goal for a 10-0 lead.

11:35 -- Well that was quick. Stanford runs a reverse to Chris Owusu on the first play of the game that catches Washington off guard and goes for 45 yards. Two plays later Stepfan Taylor broke free for a 17-yard run. Three plays later, the Cardinal finds the end zone as Jeremy Stewart rumbles in from two yards out. On that drive, Stanford showed a little creativity running a throwback screen pass to Stepfan Taylor that got them 12 yards. Stanford leads 7-0
