With this afternoon's Seahawks game looming as one of the biggest of the season -- the NFC West championship and overall No. 1 seed heading to the playoffs are at stake, after all -- it should be interesting to see how many people make it out to Washington's 12:30 p.m. men's basketball game against visiting Connecticut, which began this week as the No. 10 team in the country.
We have a game advance for you, and will have coverage later this afternoon. Going to be a busy one -- covering the game at 12:30, writing, then heading to the airport for an evening flight to San Francisco to cover the football team during the week leading up to the Fight Hunger Bowl.
On to some more links ...
--- Here's a basketball game advance from Percy Allen of The Seattle Times.
--- The Hartford Courant writes about Mike Anderson's long, winding road to Washington.
--- Newport High School tight end Drew Sample switched his commitment from Boise State to Washington yesterday.
--- Larry Stone on what might lie ahead for Washington in the wake of the Tosh Lupoi allegations.
--- If you watched the New Mexico Bowl yesterday, and you're still having a hard time believing that it actually happened, you're not alone. Colorado State rallied from a 15-point deficit late in the fourth quarter, winning 48-45 after a bevy of clock management issues and turnovers by the Cougars.
--- USC fared a little better in its bowl game, blowing past Fresno State for a 45-20 victory in the Las Vegas Bowl. And the Trojans' interim coach, Clay Helton, will remain on Steve Sarkisian's staff as offensive coordinator.
