If a desire still burns within you to attend a Washington Huskies football practice, today is your last chance.
The Huskies will scrimmage at 3 p.m. at Husky Stadium, their final open practice before shutting things down in preparation for the Aug. 30 opener at Hawaii. In other words, the practice report you read later today will be our last until spring.
There will, however, be plenty of links. Here are some now.
--- Above is another video released by UW, this one promoting the atmosphere at Husky Stadium.
--- Huskies defensive backs Jermaine Kelly and Budda Baker are mentioned in this list of freshmen to watch this season.
--- There are a handful of Washington mentions in CBS Sports' Pac-12 preview, including a pick of UW as the conference's most underrated team, and a vote for Baker as the Pac-12's top newcomer.
--- Adam Jude writes that the Huskies are making an effort to become closer under Chris Petersen.
--- The latest on the academic fraud investigation at Notre Dame, which involves former Mariner High School star KeiVarae Russell. Have to laugh at the school insisting that the players haven't been suspended, but are merely not participating in any football activities pending the outcome of the investigation. Hard to split hairs any thinner than that.
--- It looks as if Petersen's former employer, Boise State, will see a dropoff in season ticket sales for a second consecutive year.
--- Arizona State's quarterback has a friendly rivalry with a Sun Devils defensive back.
--- A junior-college transfer at Oregon State was granted temporary eligibility by the NCAA.
--- Aziz Shittu hopes to start at defensive end for Stanford in his junior season.
