Redshirt freshman cornerback Jermaine Kelly has a fractured ankle and will most at least "most of the season," Huskies coach Chris Petersen said after UW's 44-19 victory over Illinois on Saturday.
Kelly, who started the Huskies' first two games this season, will need surgery to repair the injury, which he suffered this week in practice.
"I don't know if we'll get him back," Petersen said. "He fractured his ankle in practice, kind of a fluke deal. He'll be late-late in the year, if anything."
Petersen also said he had nothing new to report on suspended cornerback Marcus Peters, who did not play against Illinois. Peters was benched in the third quarter of UW's victory over Eastern Washington last week after committing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty., and was suspended for the Illinois game due to his behavior on the Huskies sideline following said penalty.
