Game is holding true so far – lots of yards, and has the makings of a shootout.
USC got on the board on its first march, capped by Allen Bradford's up-the-gut 37-yard scoring scamper for a 7-0 Trojans lead at the 11:32 mark.
In terms of synchronicity, and usage of various personnel groups, the Huskies had arguably their best scoring drive of the season to start with, driving 82 yards. Jake Locker hit four difference receivers, including both running backs in Chris Polk (25 yards) and Jesse Callier (7 yards).
The drive stalled at the USC 6 when on third-and-3, Locker opted to try and squeeze a bullet pass to James Johnson in the back of the end zone rather than easily run it up the middle and score a touchdown.
Erik Folk capped it with a 23-yard field goal.
The quarter ended with the Huskies driving again, at the Trojans' 32.
Each team has 120 total yards.
