UW 21, WSU 14, 3rd Qtr.

Each quarterback has thrown a touchdown pass in the third quarter in what is a tight 103rd Apple Cup at Martin Stadium.

Down 21-7, Jeff Tuel drove the Cougars 57 yards - the last 34 yards on two passes to Daniel Blackledge.

The last one was a 14-yard scoring strike on a slant-in from the right seam at the 5:53 mark.

Jake Locker read the blitz by WSU's Alex Hoffman-Ellis and quickly hit Jermaine Kearse in stride for a 61-yard touchdown at the start of the third quarter to extend the Huskies' lead at the 13:32 mark.

The play came on third-and-5, and Kearse raced by cornerback Anthony Carpenter on a slant pattern.

The Huskies will start the fourth quarter with a fourth-and-goal from the WSU 1 - after Chris Polk's career-long 72-yard run.
