Romar: "A great gut-check character win"

Here's some very early reaction from coach Lorenzo Romar to the Huskies' 89-87 win over Washington State tonight at Staples Center.

OverviewJust a great gut-check, character win for our team. In the second half we laid everything out there on the floor. Isaiah Thomas scored a game for the ages. … A lot of guys stepped up. Our two freshmen stepped up and played well. The second half Matthew played well. Klay Thompson was really good.

On how UW survived Klay Thompson's tournament-record 43-point explosionHe was the main guy scoring. Our guys, I think the press really helped us. We spread it around and we had a number of guys step up to make shots.
