Quick wrap up of Steve Sarkisian press conference

The overlying theme of the press conference was Steve Sarkisian's disappointment with the way his team played mentally.

"I really feel like we played not to lose, and that's disappointing to me," he said. "We played a much too cautious brand of football."

"I thought we lacked energy. I thought we lacked enthusiasm. I didn't think we were physical at all, especially on the offensive side of the ball," he said. "Ultimately that stuff has to start with me. I need to coach better. I need to motivate better. He need to be better prepared than we were Saturday from an emotional standpoint for sure."

He spread the blame of that attitude to everyone  including himself, admitting he got a little cautious with his playcalling when Keith Price dinged up his knee and Jermaine Kearse went out of the game.

On the injury front ....

Keith Price (sprained knee) is still a little sore. He may be limited early in the week, but he will play on Saturday. Price said he feels good. He will likely still wear the balky knee brace but said it should get fitted a little better and will make it easier for him to move.

Jermaine Kearse (sprained ankle) is expected to play. "He looks much better," Sarkisian said.

Quinton Richardson (sprained ankle) is expected to play, and UW could probably use him after seeing how the secondary got abused against Eastern. Richardson did suit up against EWU but didn't play. Sarkisian did say they may monitor the reps early in the week so he's not getting sore later in the week.

Garrett Gilliland (concussion) has been cleared by doctors but will sit out today, he is expected to play.

Chris Polk (knee) had no issues and is ready to go. "He came out of it great," Sarkisian said.

Cort Dennison (thigh) said he's a little sore, but is expecting to practice and play all week.

Desmond Trufant (wrist) was wearing a guard on his right wrist, but said it's just a little sprain and nothing to worry about.
