Know your enemy: Nebraska morning reading -- Alfonzo Dennard "questionable"

Here's a short video from the Lincoln Journal Star of head coach Bo Pelini talking after Thursday's practice.

Corner back Alfonzo Dennard participated a little in practice on Thursday.  Pelini said Dennard is "questionable" for Saturday's game.

Also from the Star ... Kenny Bell brings a carefree spirit and some speed and talent to the wide receiver position.  Here's some video of Journal writers Steven Sipple and Brian Christofferson offering up some keys to the game.

From the Omaha World Herald ...  a nice column from Dirk Chatelain looking how religious differences have no bearing on Ameer Abdullah and running backs coach Ron Brown. Here's the notebook with this note ...

Polk left impression

Nebraska senior linebacker Lavonte David certainly remembers the Huskies' top rusher, Chris Polk.

David recorded 12 tackles in two games against Washington last year — five of those stops, including one behind the line of scrimmage, came on Polk rushes.

"He's a great, hard runner," David said. "A downhill guy. He doesn't give up. Once you get your hands on him, you've got to bring him down because he'll come out of a tackle real fast. He's a great back."

Polk ran for 177 yards in UW's 19-7 Holiday Bowl win. The junior is averaging 116 yards per game this year.AUDIO:
