Quick practice report
Keith Price practiced fully today, again wearing the heavy knee brace on his left knee and the heavy tape on his right. He looked improved from the day before. He moved a little better on handoffs and drop backs. Is there still a limp? Yes, he isn't moving like he did before the season. But he's moving well enough to handle the offense.
Running back Jesse Callier was also in full pads and out running around. He took some team snaps and did all the indivi
Safeties Nate Fellner and Taz Stevenson seem doubtful to play on Saturday. Fellner dressed out but did not participate in any team activities, Stevenson did not dress out. Justin Glenn continued to work with the No. 1 defense, while Will Shamburger was with the No. 2 defense.
Also limited in practice was defensive tackle Semisi Tokolahi. He's had some days where he's been more involved in practice, and days where he hasn't. On Wednesday, he barely participated.
"The hardest part is just the overall feeling and strength of his foot," Sarkisian said. "You know, it’s just not quite there to where we want it to be. Our job, I think, first is to make sure that the well-being of our players is in the right place of order. There’s days when he really shows things that are encouraging. There’s other days when he doesn’t show things the way we would like. So that’s what’s making it so hard to put him in the game, actually."
In other defensive line news, Sarkisian was quite pleased with Josh Shirley's effort. The defensive end was very disruptive during team periods with the second team defense.
"I’ll say this: Josh has had his best week of practice," Sarkisian said. "Yesterday and today were the best two practices he’s had since spring ball. I don’t know exactly where the light turned on, but it did. I expect him to get more involved this Saturday when he’s on the field, to be more productive.
He’s just playing faster. He’s playing fast, I’m noticing him, I’m feeling him in practice, his speed. So the goal is to get that to carry over on Saturday."
