The "fence" around the state of Washington that head coach Steve Sarkisian boasted of building to keep in-state recruits in seems to have a few holes in it.
For the third time this season, the Huskies have lost out on a high-profile in-state recruit as Mariner running back KeiVarae Russell announced today that he will attend Notre Dame next fall. Russell had narrowed his choices down to the Irish and the Huskies.
That means, Washington has now lost out on Tacoma Baptist offensive tackle Walker Williams, who committed to Wisconsin, and Puyallup offensive tackle Josh Garnett, who left UW out of his top 3 -- he's considering Stanford, Michigan and Notre Dame.
That leaves only Zach Banner of Lakes as the remaining prized recruit in the class. Banner won't make a decision until after his official visit to USC. Banner's final three schools are Oklahoma, Washington and USC.
