Update: It now appears that it's a done deal with Jeff Tedford confirming the deal, telling John Breech of CBS Sportsline.
Here's the full statement from Tedford ...
"Tosh and Eric have decided to take other jobs, and we wish them the best. When people have career opportunities they make decisions based upon a wide array of reasons that are important to them. We appreciate their contributions to Cal football, and we exhausted all of our resources to try to retain Tosh and Eric within the confines and continuity of our coaching staff, but both chose to take advantage of new opportunities. We will proceed to replace them with quality coaches who will continue to stand for what the University of California and our football program represent, just as Tosh and Eric did."
Several outlets on twitter and other places are reporting that Cal receivers coachEric Kiesau
will be hired by Washington to take the position of offensive coordinator with the Huskies. That would mean receivers coach Jimmie Dougherty would move to quarterbacks coach and also get plenty of help from head coach Steve Sarkisian.
Will it affect Lakes WR/DB Cedric Dozier, who committed to Cal to play receiver. Dozier told the TNT he was firm in his commitment last night. But maybe that changes. Wide receiver Jordan Payton has also opened up his recruiting and maybe he could fall into the Huskies lap.
Kiesau made over $240,000 last year at Cal, so obviously that figure would go up. Nussmeier made over $400,000 last season. There are reports that Kiesau would make over $600,000 a year at UW.
