There's five games left in the season. Obviously checking with bracket experts is something to be done, but I still believe that the Pac-12 will likely get two bids in out of three teams - Cal, Washington or Arizona.
Maybe I'm wrong (it wouldn't be the first time), but that's what I believe.
Obviously, the Pac-12 isn't a great conference. Our columnist Dave Boling made sure to mention that today in his column.
All three "experts" agree and have the Pac-12 getting just one bid -- they are projecting Cal as the winner. First of all, I have serious doubts as to whether Cal can win the Pac-12 tournament because of their lack of depth.
So if Cal or Washington were to win the regular season title but not win the conference tournament, they wouldn't get into the NCAA tournament? No way. Not happening.
Still ... here's Joe Lunardi's projection for ESPN.
And here's Andy Glockner's projection for SI
And here's Jerry Palm's projection for CBS sports
My thoughts ... "meh."
We'll see after this weekend. There's five games left ... if both teams even go 3-2 -- that would leave them at 15-5 in the league and 23-8 for Cal and 20-10 for Washington .... even a win or two in the tourney should be enough. And if it isn't, well the selection committee would be wrong.
