A few football notes to pass along this afternoon, starting with some coaching news.
Former Huskies safeties coach Jeff Mills has been promoted to defensive coordinator at the University of New Mexico. Mills was hired by the Lobos shortly after being fired by head coach Steve Sarkisian along with most of the defensive staff.
Over on the Palouse, former WSU quarterback Jason Gesser has been promoted to Idaho offensive coordinator by Robb Akey. It's a big jump for Gesser, but he'll have wide receivers coach Mike Levenseller to lean on.
Speaking of former WSU quarterbacks, Timm Rosenbach has been hired by my alma mater - the University of Montana - to be the offensive coordinator for head coach Robin Pflugrad.
