Oregon State 69, Washington State 64-- Final

Like so many of their games this season, the Washington State Cougars played well enough to win. And like so many of those games this season, they Cougs found a way to let it slip away at the end.

Oregon State made four straight free throws on a couple of tough calls for WSU and it was cushion that the Cougs couldn't overcome. The Beavers will play Washington tomorrow at 12:10 in the quarterfinals. The Huskies beat OSU both times they played this season.

Washington State simply couldn't get buckets when they needed them. They made just one field goal in the final 10 minutes of the game. The Cougars also hurt themselves from the free throw line.Down 64-61 with 1:21 remaining, Marcus Capers missed two free throws. OSU came down and got a bucket inside from Joe Burton basically killing WSU's hopes.

After shooting 68 percent from the field (17-25), the Cougs shot just 28 percent from the field (7-for-25) in the second half. WSU managed just one field goal - a Mike Ladd layup - in the final 10 minutes.

OSU won despite getting just getting four points from Jared Cunningham. Devon Collier had had 10 points and six boards, while Joe Burton came off the bench to score 15 points.
