Morning kickoff: Taz Stevenson embracing his role as OLB and lots of links

Here's my notebook in today's paper which leads with the transition of Taz Stevenson from safety to linebacker.

From the story ...

Stevenson jumped at the chance to play outside linebacker this spring and may be playing his way into a starting job.

“I was excited,” said the junior from Hawaii. “I played a little bit of outside linebacker in high school too, so that should help.”

Stevenson is with the first-team when the defense works in the 3-4 alignment, featuring four linebackers. When the Huskies work on a 4-3 look, Stevenson is the outside linebacker on the strong side, the side where the tight end lines up for the offense.

“It’s a big adjustment for me, but I’m used to playing physical so it’s not going to be that hard …,” he said. Some pictures from an airplane of Husky Stadium renovation

Kasen Williams was on with Mitch in the Morning.
