UCLA's hoop recruiting class gets bigger and better

I was covering football practice and Husky Stadium renovations earlier today, so I didn't get to post the news about UCLA adding yet another big time basketball recruit.

Four-star power forward Tony Parker - the No. 26 ranked player in ESPN's top 100 - signed with the Bruins early today. He joins the nation's No. 2 player Shabazz Muhammad, the No. 5 player Kyle Anderson and No. 41 Jordan Adams, giving UCLA easily the best recruiting class in the country

At 6-9, 270 pounds, Parker and Josh Smith at 6-9, 330 form a nice guard and tackle combo.

UCLA has the single best recruiting class in the country. Those players join Smith and the Wear twins.

So what is fair to expect of the Bruins this season? Well, I would think a sweet 16 appearance at least. After what John Calipari and Kentucky has done the past few seasons, the bar has been raise.

As for the Huskies? They lost out on Anthony Bennett, who ruled them out earlier this week. There is William Howard and Jordan Tebbutt still out there to fill that one scholarship. We won't know likely for another week or two.
