Three things to watch for in today's spring game

There are things you should expect to see at today's spring game at CenturyLink Field. I'm sure at some point Keith Price will make a great throw to Kasen Willliams or Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who in turn will make a ridiculously athletic catch or play after it. I'm certain Josh Shirley will cause some havoc, particularly on third down pass plays. I'm certain Sean Parker will make at least one or two smart plays in the secondary

Those are a given.

But in my preview story today, I wrote about three things that you should focus on during in today's game that might tell you just how successful the Huskies will be next season.

1. The multiple fronts of the UW defense .... is it a true 3-4? How will Josh Shirley be used and just how well does Danny Shelton play head up on the center as the nose tackle.

2. The play of offensive tackles Micah Hatchie and Ben Riva. Hatchie is going to be the starting left tackle next fall. Ideally, the Huskies would like to have Riva step forward and grab the spot so they can keep Erik Kohler in at guard, which is his likely strength.

3. Running in between the tackles. Obviously, you know that neither Bishop Sankey or Jesse Callier will replace Chris Polk's production by themselves. The combination of the two might not be able to do it either. But one thing is for certain - one of them needs to show the ability to run between the tackles. It was a part of Polk's game that made the offense effective.
