Game thread: LSU 41, Washington 3 (Final)

Fourth quarter

LSU added another score and this is out of hand. 41-3

Third quarter

2:51 -- LSU strikes again as Zach Mettenberger hits a wide open Kadron Boone for a 32-yard TD. LSU leads 34-3

10:35 -- This is starting to get ugly. UW goes three and out on the first drive of the third quarter, and LSU goes right down the field. Kenny Hilliard leaped over the goal line pile for a 4-yard touchdown. LSU leads 27-3

Halftime stats

UW has -11 yards rushing and 70 yards of total offense and just five first downs. LSU has 231 yards of total offense and 13 first downs.

Keith Price is 10-of-23 for 81 yards.  Zach Mettenberger is 9-of-14 for 129 yards. LSU has rushed for 102 yards.

Second quarter

5:03 -- LSU settles for a 32-yard field goal from Drew Alleman. The Tigers had a touchdown but Jarvis Landry dropped a touchdown in the end zone. LSU up 20-3

10:02 -- UW gets a sort of stop. Faced with first and goal, the defense forces a field goal out of LSU, stopping the Tigers on the 1-yard line. LSU fans wanted Les Miles to go for it. But he settled for an 18-yard Drew Alleman field goal. LSU leads 17-3

First quarter

2:11 -- LSU adds to its lead. Michael Copeland powers in on a 1 yard run, completing a 7-play drive. Washington is really losing the field position battle as well.

Injury -- starting right tackle Erik Kohler suffered a right knee injury  and is out of the game. Mike Criste has replaced him at right tackle. UW is getting pretty thin on the O-line with these injuries

11:18 -- LSU gets on the board quickly. After forcing a three and out from Washington and a poor punt by Korey Durkee, the Tigers needed just three plays to find the endzone. Alfred Blue went through the left side and scored from 21 yards out. LSU leads 7-3

UW gets a huge break on the opening kickoff. Taz Stevenson drilled returned Odell Beckham Jr., and forced a fumble and Thomas Tutogi recovered on the 20 yard line. However a dropped pass by Bishop Sankey on second down hurt the Huskies and they had to settle for a 34-yard field goal from Travis Coons
