Throughout the week, players and coaches from both teams have downplayed any form of rivalry around Saturday's game between second-ranked Oregon and No. 23 Washington.
That's expected from members of the teams. Fans? That's different.
Here's what Oregon running back Kenjon Barber told The Oregonian:
"... Players on both sides just take it as a game. But our fans get so into — so into it. Even going to Washington State last weekend (in Seattle), we were getting middle fingers — just everything from the fans. The fans take it more to heart than we do."
Certainly, Oregon's recent success and an eight-game winning streak against Washington has bolstered the vitriol. So, what do you think?
