The Huskies hang on for a needed 66-61 win over Saint Louis.
Game thread after the jump:
> Under-eight timeout. Washington leads 54-48 after Wilcox just banged another 3. He is having a wildly efficient game. Wilcox is 9-for-11 and has 22 points. He's 3-for-4 from behind the 3-point line. N'Diaye also doing damage inside. He keeps going to his favored drop-step move on the right block. He has 12 points.
> Gaddy is standing while out of the game, yelled and threw a first when Wilcox's pivot J rolled in. Don't see that from Gaddy much.
> Washington up 39-35 behind an aggressive Gaddy. He's scored nine of Washington's last 11 points.
> Halftime. Gaddy hits a 3 from the left wing to tie the game 29-29 just before the buzzer. C.J. Wilcox is 5-for-6 and has 13 points at the half. Desmond Simmons has four rebounds and Aziz N'Diaye has five, though Washington is still being out-rebounded 19-17.
> Washington offense is struggling. Huskies shooting just 35 percent and are down 23-19 with 3:56 remaining in the half.
> Under-eight timeout. Saint Louis leads 23-17 with 6:04 remaining in the half. Washington is being outrebounded 13-10 by one of the worst rebounding teams in the country. Saint Louis came into the game 315th in the country in rebounds per game. Part of that is because it plays low-possession games, part of it is because the Billikens are not very good at it.
> Jarreau has been playing excellent, but is well late on the closeout of a 3-point shooter and will be subbed because of it.
> During the technical free throws, Romar was waving to the official who called the tech asking, "What'd I do?" The ref just gave him a calm down signal.
> Romar gets a technical from one ref when yelling at another. Makes Romar squat in disbelief.
> Under-16 timeout and Washington leads 6-5 with 15:42 to go. This will be a grinder of a game at this pace.
> Scott Suggs in street clothes. without a walking boot, but a definite limp.
> Andrew Andrews will make his first start tonight. The other Washington starters are the same: Abdul Gaddy, C.J. Wilcox, Jernard Jarreau and Aziz N'Diaye.
