Morning links: Start the spring football countdown

FROM CORVALLIS -- It's another practice day for the Washington Huskies, who will leave Seattle later today for Corvallis. They play at Oregon State tomorrow (1 p.m., Pac-12 Networks). We're already here, and we're here with links.

--- The UW announced its spring football practice schedule yesterday. The upshot: practices are closed to the public, and they'll all be held in the morning.

--- Todd Dybas of The News Tribune is in Indianapolis for the NFL scouting combine, and took this video of former UW tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins.

--- An interesting take from Seattle Sportsnet on Lorenzo Romar and his relationship with the Dawg Pack.

--- Former UW receivers coach Eric Kiesau has been hired by Kansas to coach receivers there. Kiesau also had the title of offense coordinator at Washington, though Steve Sarkisian obviously made all of the offensive playcalls.

--- Former UW center Spencer Hawes was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In Pac-12 basketball action yesterday ...

--- Oregon State began the weekend with a 68-57 victory over Washington State at Gill Coliseum. The Cougars are now 2-12 in Pac-12 play.

--- Stanford blasted USC, 80-59, at Maples Pavilion.
