UW announces fall camp schedule

Washington released its fall camp schedule a little while ago. Three practices will be open to the public: Aug. 9, 13 and 16.

A few other notes:

--- Media are asked not to report injuries from practices, aside from those announced afterward by coach Chris Petersen, who has said he isn't likely to comment on injuries that aren't long-term.

--- "Game week" practices begin Monday, Aug. 18, with new interview policies and all that, which will be detailed at a later time. Most camp practices will be open to media in their entirety, with players -- except freshmen, redshirt freshmen and those who are injured -- available for interviews afterward.

FALL CAMP (Aug. 4-Aug. 16) MEDIA & PRACTICE POLICIES:

Practices during the “camp” period (Aug. 4-16) are open to the press in their entirety, other than the exceptions listed above . Additionally, practices on Aug. 13 and Aug. 16 are open to the public. Following Aug. 13’s practice, the team will remain afterwards for “Picture Day,” also open to the public and free to all. For all practices, press MUST enter via the double doors on the southeast side, just west of the loading dock doors.

Video and photos made be taken during individual drills just after stretching (roughly a 20-minute time period). There will be no photography or videography allowed whenever the team lines up in formation and/or in 11-on-11 (even if during that 20-minute period). UW communications staff will be on hand to advise when the start and end of the photo/video period. Videographers and photographers must shoot from the field level and from the same areas from which they would shoot on a game day (i.e., not in, or behind, the team bench areas, etc., and not from the stands).

Outside the photo/video portion of practice, members of the press are asked to view practice from the sections 105-107 rather than from the sidelines.

Player and coach interviews will take place IN THE MEDIA/PHOTO WORK ROOM at the end of each practice.

As a condition of keeping fall-camp practices open to the press, we ask that the press do not report any news regarding injuries other than those long-term injuries announced by the head coach.

No injured players, nor players who are freshmen or redshirt-freshmen will be available for interviews.
