Pac-12 picks, Week 3: UCLA-Texas is toughest call

There should be a few more blowouts on tap this week, with Pac-12 teams mostly finishing up their nonconference schedules. With that said, we'll probably miss three or four of them.

All games Saturday, for once. Lines are for entertainment and gambling purposes only. As always, the pick for the Washington game will come in a separate post on Friday. (Spread is in parentheses.) All lines courtesy of VegasInsider.com.

Last week: 11-0 straight up, 7-3 against the spread

Season: 20-3 straight up, 10-8 against the spread

...

Wyoming at Oregon, 11 a.m., Pac-12 Networks (Oregon by 43.5) -- Cowboys scored 17 points each in wins over Montana and Air Force. Might need double their season total to keep up with the Ducks. The pick: Oregon 63, Wyoming 14.

...

Army at Stanford, 2 p.m., Pac-12 Networks (Stanford by 28) -- Should be a nice bounce-back game for the Cardinal. The pick: Stanford 38, Army 17.

...

Portland State at Washington State, 5 p.m., Pac-12 Networks (no line) -- No line on this one (at least not in most casinos), but Washington State would certainly be a double-digit favorite. For the last time in a while, most likely. But the Cougars should roll in this one. The pick: WSU 41, Portland State 14.

...

USC at Boston College, 5 p.m., ESPN (USC by 18.5) -- A Steve Sarkisian team on an east coast road trip ... hmm ... doesn't feel like a cover. Trojans could make me regret this one. The pick: USC 34, Boston College 24.

...

UCLA at Texas, 5:15 p.m., FOX (UCLA by 8) -- As the headline notes, this is probably the toughest pick of the week. Bruins haven't been all that impressive in two wins, and Texas hasn't been all that impressive, period. Maybe this is where UCLA gets it together, but Longhorns will cover. The pick: UCLA 28, Texas 21.

...

Arizona State at Colorado, 7 p.m., ESPNU (ASU by 15.5) -- Sun Devils could play average game and still cover this spread. Buffaloes don't look much better than a year ago. The pick: ASU 51, Colorado 24.

...

Nevada at Arizona, 8 p.m., Pac-12 Networks (Arizona by 16) -- The Wolf Pack only gave up 13 points to Washington State, but there was nothing all that intimidating about their defense. Here's a guess that will still be true on Saturday, but with more points on the board. The pick: Arizona 42, Nevada 20.
