Morning links: Stanford opens as 6-point favorite over Huskies

It's another Monday, which means coach Chris Petersen will hold a press conference to talk about ... well, to talk about an opponent his players probably shouldn't overlook this week. No. 16 Stanford visits Husky Stadium for a 1:15 p.m. game Saturday to begin Washington's Pac-12 schedule. So this week might have just a little different feel to it than the previous four. But these links probably feel about the same.

--- First, a note that despite a pretty lackluster national schedule this week, ESPN College GameDay will not be in Seattle for the UW-Stanford game, as some had thought possible. The show instead will travel to Columbia, South Carolina, for South Carolina's game against Missouri and former Huskies coach Gary Pinkel.

--- As the headline notes, Stanford has been installed as an early 6-point favorite over the Huskies. Will be interesting to see if that line moves throughout the week.

--- Here's where the Huskies rank nationally in the major statistical categories. Also, be sure to vote in our Sunday poll, asking for a letter grade to assign to UW's nonconference performance.

--- Danny Shelton is one of seven candidates again for the Lott IMPACT player of the week.

--- Former Huskies running back Chris Polk had maybe his best play as a professional on Sunday, returning a kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown in Philadelphia's 37-34 win over Washington.

--- Jake Locker, meanwhile, did not have his best day as a professional, throwing two interceptions in Tennessee's 33-7 loss to the Bengals.

--- Kasen Williams would like the Huskies to throw the ball more.

--- Bud Withers recaps a wild weekend of Pac-12 games.

--- California needs to "hang in there" after its devastating, last-second loss at Arizona.

--- Here's how Arizona graded out after that game.

--- Washington State still has plenty to prove despite playing Oregon pretty tough.

--- Oregon coach Mark Helfrich didn't want to talk about the crucial no-call that helped the Ducks beat the Cougars.

--- Arizona State's backup quarterback almost left Tempe before his opportunity came.

--- ASU doesn't buy the idea that UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley might not play in Thursday's game.

--- USC hasn't lost to Oregon State in the Coliseum in quite a while.

--- Colorado hopes to carry the momentum from its big 21-12 win over mighty Hawaii into Pac-12 play.
