Stephen Gallacher’s caddie suffered an ankle injury during Wednesday’s practice round and will be replaced for the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay, a USGA official said.
Damian Moore suffered the injury on the sixth hole Wednesday and was treated on site, the official said.
A replacement caddie had not been named, but the official expected Gallacher to choose one by Thursday morning.
Fox Sports reported that Moore was taken off the course on a stretcher after falling. Fox also reported that the caddie for Henrik Stenson (Gareth Lord) suffered a wrist injury when he tied to brace his fall when he slipped on the dry fescue grass walking off of the 16th tee. But Lord is expected to work the Open.
