CLASS 4A DISTRICTS
Bellarmine Prep 1, Todd Beamer 0 (SO, 4-2): The Lions and the Titans went to a shootout to determine who would clinch a state berth and who would go home after neither team could find the back of the net in regular time.
Bellarmine Prep was able to score all four goals in the shootout to seal the victory. The first goal was cored by Taylor Crawford, the second by Haley Lepkowski, the third by Ashley Price and the fourth by Sam McKiernan.
Todd Beamer hit iron on its first shot of the shootout and then was stopped with a big save by Isabelle Davis on its second shot. Davis also got a shutout in the game.
This makes it two win or go home victories for Bellarmine Prep in a row. This one guaranteed the Lions a state berth with a match at 6 p.m. Saturday against Puyallup at Sparks Stadium for either the No. 1 or 4 seed to the 4A state tournament.
Beamer, the 4A NPSL Olympic champion, saw its season end at 14-2-1.
Puyallup 1, Jefferson 0: The Vikings shut out the Raiders with the lone goal by Meredith Udovich off an assist from teammate Sunny Bieber in the 35th minute being enough to lead the team to victory and a spot in the 4A state tournament.
Puyallup’s goalkeeper Rian Kasner got a shutout in the game as Jefferson couldn’t pull together enough offense to come back from the one goal deficit.
The Raiders’ season ends at 8-8-1.
Sumner 1, Auburn Mountainview 0: With an unassisted goal by Brooke Nichols in the 57th minute being enough to seal the victory, the Spartans shut out the Lions in the low scoring game Thursday to clinch a state berth.
Keeper Sydney Green put up a shutout performance.
Auburn Mountainview’s season ends at 7-7-1.
Kentwood 1, Tahoma 0 (SO): The Conqerors survived a shootout to secure a 4A state tournament berth and end the Bears’ season.
Kentwood advances in the district playoffs to face Union at 7 p.m. Saturday at Tahoma High School to determine its seed to state.
Tahoma’s season ends at 12-5-0.
Union 1, Auburn Riverside 0: Kiani Pandoliano scored with less than a minute remaining in regulation on a penalty kick to end the Ravens’ season.
Kentridge 1, Hazen 0: The Chargers, with the win, advance to face Camas, which beat Rogers, 5-0, at 5 p.m. Saturday at French Field for state seeding. The win secured Kentridge of a state tournament berth and ended Hazen’s season.
Kennedy Catholic 2, Olympia 1 (SO 4-1): Jenna Killman scored a goal for Olympia, but after two scoreless overtime periods the Lancers won in a shootout to clinch a state berth and end the Bears’ season.
Kennedy Catholic advances to face Sumner at 8 p.m. Saturday at Sparks Stadium. Olympia’s season ends at 9-5-3.
CLASS 3A DISTRICTS
Wilson 5, Capital 0: The Rams got goal from five different players as they survived to advance to a winner-to-state match against Central Kitsap at 5 p.m. Saturday at Ingersoll Stadium.
Peninsula 3, Lakes 1: The Seahawks rolled to a 3A district playoff victory to stay alive against the Lancers.
They advance to face Bonney Lake for a 7 p.m. on Saturday at Mt. Tahoma High School.
CLASS 2A DISTRICTS
Orting 1, Highline 0: The Cardinals secured a state berth with Orting goalkeeper Kellie Cahill getting eight saves to maintain the shutout in the narrow victory.
Orting’s Kailey Divelbiss got the sole goal of the game in the 62nd minute off an assist by Sydney Banyai.
Orting advances to face on to face Port Angeles on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Fife High School, with the winner earning the 2A West Central District’s No. 5 seed to the 2A state tournament, and the loser earning the sixth seed.
