Winners of the South Sound high school basketball Athletes of the Week (Dec. 16 to Dec. 22)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s high school basketball Athletes of the Week poll (Dec. 16 to Dec. 22). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported their local student-athletes. Check back for a new poll next week.

Boys: Josh Lear, Sumner

Girls: Julianna Walker, Annie Wright

BOYS

Emani Mitchell, Wilson: Had 16 points, 2 assists and a steal in 65-56 win over Lincoln, snapping Lincoln’s nine-game win streak in the series over the Rams.

Reggie Archibald, Lincoln: Scored 18 points and added a pair of assists and a steal in 64-56 loss to Wilson.

Kenzel Massey, Lakes: Had 23 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in 70-56 win over Bonney Lake.

John Barbee, Franklin Pierce: Had 30 points in 53-44 win over Spanaway Lake and 20 points in 67-37 win over Eatonville.

Luke Browne, Peninsula: Seahawks’ freshman had 16 points in 55-48 loss to Capital and 14 points and eight rebounds in 57-44 win over Yelm.

Colby White, Central Kitsap: Scored 18 in 42-37 win over Timberline and 21 in 60-41 win against Yelm.

Ryan Ballah, Spanaway Lake: Scored 14 in 72-59 win over Bethel.

Asjon Anderson, Mount Tahoma: Sophomore guard scored 18 points in 65-61 win over Stadium and had 15 in 64-46 win over Clover Park.

Josh Lear, Sumner: Had 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals in 53-51 win over Curtis on 4-of-7 shooting. Scored five points in the final two minutes to deliver the comeback win for the Spartans.

Jace Barrett, Rogers: Scored 28 points in 58-56 win over Bellarmine Prep.

Tanner Wallen, White River: Had 24 points in 69-41 win over Eatonville.

GIRLS

Raigan Barrett, Rogers: UW softball signee poured in 23 points, six assists and four rebounds in 73-35 win over rival Puyallup.

Tate McReynolds, Gig Harbor: Scored 21 points and pulled in 15 boards in 76-74 win over Annie Wright.

Julianna Walker, Annie Wright: Had 46 points in 76-74 loss to Gig Harbor and is averaging close to 40 points per game.

Piper Bauer, Peninsula: Scored 25 points and had eight assists, two rebounds and three steals in 71-57 loss to Yelm.

Sharayah Johnson, Lincoln: Had 18 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks in 59-53 win over crosstown rival Wilson.

Hope Hassmann, Tahoma: Scored 29 points in 68-55 win over Kentwood and 28 in 79-54 win over Mount Rainier.

Esmeralda Morales, Bethel: Had 38 points, six assists and six steals in 86-47 win over Spanaway Lake and 24 points, four assists and five steald in 69-28 win over Stadium.

Jordyn Jenkins, Kentridge: Scored 32 points in 68-47 win over Kentwood.

Maddie Plevyak, Yelm: Scored 18 points in 71-57 win over Peninsula in 3A SSC play.
