Winner of The News Tribune’s Athlete of the Week (Oct. 11 to 16)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s high school Athlete of the Week poll (Oct. 11 to 16). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

Ashley Wright, Gig Harbor soccer

The senior midfielder had a goal and assist against North Thurston and scored two goals against Peninsula for first-place Tides in 3A South Sound Conference play.

Andrew Butler, Auburn Riverside: Senior running back and defensive back had five catches for 98 yards and a touchdown in Auburn Riverside’s 3A NPSL league title clinching win over Auburn Mountainview on Thursday. Defensively, had six tackles, a sack, an interception, a forced fumble and fumble recovery.

Gabi Faamausili, Steilacoom volleyball: Had 24 kills, two blocks, 22 digs and three aces against Enumclaw. Against Fife, had 14 kills, a block, 12 digs and two aces.

Dani Faamausili, Steilacoom volleyball: Against Enumclaw, had three kills, a block, two aces and 47 assists. Against Fife, had four kills, two blocks, eight digs, an ace and 28 assists.

Ashley Wright, Gig Harbor soccer: Senior midfielder had a goal and assist against North Thurston and scored two goals against Peninsula for first-place Tides.

Dempsy James, Spanaway Lake: Had six total touchdowns in 41-6 win over Bonney Lake — five passing and one rushing. Completed 19-of-21 passes for 250 yards.

Amari Goodfellow, Auburn: Threw three touchdowns and rushed for 149 yards and another touchdown on the ground in 71-20 win over Kent Meridian.

Luke Faccone, Puyallup: Kicked the game-winning 19-year field goal in Puyallup’s 24-21 overtime win over Emerald Ridge.

Parker Born, Gig Harbor: Caught seven passes for 157 yards in 29-7 win over Capital. Defensively, had eight solo tackles.

Job Kralik, Eatonville: Caught seven passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for another 15-yard touchdown and hit a 37-yard field goal in a 51-6 win over Elma.

Isaiah Malloe, Kennedy Catholic: Had 15 tackles, three interceptions and a punt return touchdown in 59-14 win over Kentridge.

Julian Mason, Graham-Kapowsin: Caught 10 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown in Eagles’ win over No. 4 Sumner.

Thaddeus Umi-Tuato’o, Auburn Riverside: Rushed 26 times for 164 yards and three touchdowns in Auburn Riverside’s win over Auburn Mountainview.
