Thursday’s prep soccer highlights: White River inches up 2A SPSL standings with win over Washington

The White River boys soccer team got goals from Daniel Braga, Tyler Kresbach and Hayden Grimm in a 3-1 home win over Washington in 2A South Puget Sound League action on Thursday.

The Hornets improved to 3-4-0 overall and 3-2-1 in 2A SPSL play, trailing Fife and Franklin Pierce in the league standings. Washington (1-5-1, 0-5-0 2A SPSL) got its lone goal from Miguel Rodriguez in the 52nd minute.

Gig Harbor 3, Yelm 0: Edwin Brown scored goals in the 44th and 78th minutse as the Tides cruised past the Tornadoes on the road.

Jon Brown got the scoring going in the seventh minute. John Reinke had two saves for Gig Harbor (5-1-1, 4-1-0) to stay atop the 4A Narrows standings.

Klahowya 2, Vahon 0: The Pirates were shut out as Klahowya picked up goals in the 10th and 55th minutes.
