How the South Sound’s top high school football recruits performed in Week 9

The South Sound is loaded with Division I-bound talent again this fall.

Here is how the area’s top 10 recruits in the 2023 class and top five recruits in the 2024 class fared in Week 9.

2023 CLASS

WR/DB Jasiah Wagoner, Spanaway Lake — Oklahoma commit had six tackles in a 38-19 loss to Lincoln.

QB Gabarri Johnson, Lincoln — Missouri commit completed 9-of-10 passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns, and added 12 carries for 71 yards and another score in a 38-19 win over Spanaway Lake. Johnson has 19 passing touchdowns and 13 rushing touchdowns through nine games.

OL/DL Micah Banuelos, Kennedy Catholic — USC commit played left tackle for a Lancers offense that piled up 424 total yards, and added two tackles for loss in a 52-7 win over Mount Rainier.

TE/DL Jacob Lane, Emerald Ridge — Washington commit returned to the field after missing three games due to injury in a 42-14 win over Rogers.

WR/DB Andre Jordan Jr., Federal Way — Oregon State commit hauled in five catches for 77 yards and a touchdown in a 50-21 win over Decatur.

QB/DB Dorian Thomas, Kentridge — Oregon State commit, who is projected as a tight end in college, but is playing quarterback for the Chargers this season, completed 18-of-33 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns, added seven carries for 48 yards and a touchdown and a 40-yard caused fumble and recovery for a touchdown, and had three tackles, 1 1/2 for loss and a sack in a 27-8 win over Kentwood.

RB/LB Xe’ree Alexander, Kennedy Catholic — Arizona State commit rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on two carries in a 52-7 win over Mount Rainier.

RB/LB Leo Pulalasi, Lakes — BYU commit rushed for a career-high 232 yards and five touchdowns on 12 carries, and had a 23-yard catch, three tackles and a two-point conversion run in a 51-14 win over Mount Tahoma.

OL/DL Nathan Pritchard, Auburn Riverside — Washington State commit played left tackle for the Ravens and added one tackle on defense in a 37-34 loss to Auburn.

WR/DB David Wells, Lakes Oregon State commit hauled in two catches for 34 yards, had one carry for 6 yards, two punt returns for 14 yards, and added two tackles in a 51-14 win over Mount Tahoma.

2024 CLASS

RB/LB Brayden Platt, Yelm — Four-star recruit did not play in a 50-14 win over Gig Harbor.

WR/DB Rahshawn Clark, Federal Way — Four-star recruit had a 15-yard touchdown catch in a 50-21 win over Decatur.

WR/DB Malachi Durant, Puyallup — Three-star recruit hauled in four catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in a 48-14 loss to Curtis.

RB/LB Unterrio Latin-Henley, Washington — Three-star recruit rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown on six carries, had three catches for 59 yards and a touchdown, a 22-yard kickoff return, and added four tackles in a 33-28 win over Franklin Pierce.

QB Jake Schakel, Emerald Ridge — Three-star recruit completed 12-of-17 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-14 win over Rogers.
