Winner of The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week (Jan. 8 to 13)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week for high school sports contests played Jan. 8-13. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

Kamila Salanoa, Clover Park girls basketball

She posted three double-doubles with 19 points and 18 rebounds in a win over Steilacoom, 24 points and 23 rebounds in a win over Orting and 32 points and 24 rebounds in a win over Foss.

Jessica Ajayi, Kentwood girls basketball — Scored a game-high 35 points, including a dozen points in a fourth quarter, to lift Kentwood to a win over rival Kentridge on Saturday.

Adalynn Busch, Tahoma girls basketball — Scored a game-high 11 points in 4A NPSL win over Kentridge on Thursday.

Kaylia Heidelberg, Peninsula girls basketball — Scored a team-high 26 points in overtime loss to crosstown rival Gig Harbor, and a team-high 29 points in a win over Central Kitsap.

Lainee Houillon, Sumner girls basketball — Scored 17 points and added nine rebounds, three assists and two steals in a win over Emerald Ridge, and had 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals in a win over Bellarmine Prep.

Josie Jacobs, White River girls basketball — Scored 18 points in win over rival Enumclaw on Wednesday.

Alexis Meyer, North Thurston girls basketball — Scored 15 points in win over district rival Timberline on Wednesday.

Soraya Ogaldez, North Thurston girls basketball — Scored a game-high 30 points in win over district rival Timberline on Wednesday.

Kamila Salanoa, Clover Park girls basketball — Posted three double-doubles with 19 points and 18 rebounds in a win over Steilacoom, 24 points and 23 rebounds in a win over Orting and 32 points and 24 rebounds in a win over Foss.

LaVhanta Sandling-Green, Lincoln girls basketball — Scored a team-high 13 points in 3A PCL win over Spanaway Lake on Thursday.

Maggie Schmitz, White River girls basketball — Scored 18 points in win over rival Enumclaw on Wednesday.

Taylor Schwab, Gig Harbor girls basketball — Scored 26 points and added four rebounds and eight assists in an overtime win over crosstown rival Peninsula.

Jazmyn Shipp, Bonney Lake girls basketball — Posted a double-double with 27 points and 16 rebounds, and added eight assists, four steals and five blocks in a win over Silas, and had 12 points, six rebounds, six assists, four steals and two blocks in a win over Lakes.

Brandi Stanford, Timberline girls basketball — Scored 15 points in loss to North Thurston on Wednesday.

Kaylee Swanson, Enumclaw girls basketball — Scored a team-high 11 points in loss to rival White River on Wednesday.

Tyler Venable, Black Hills girls basketball — Scored 12 points and had three rebounds in a win over Centralia, and had 19 points, four rebounds and two steals in a win over Aberdeen.
