Winner of The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week (Jan. 15 to 20)
Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week for high school sports contests played Jan. 15-20. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.
This week’s winner is:
Taylor Schwab, Gig Harbor
She scored 13 points and had three assists and six steals in a win over River Ridge, and scored 29 points and had six rebounds, five assists and five steals in a win over Central Kitsap.

Willow Bonnici, Gig Harbor — Scored eight points and added 18 rebounds in a win over River Ridge, and posted a double-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds and three steals in a win over Central Kitsap.
Niki Boris, Kentwood — Scored 13 points in loss to Tahoma on Tuesday.
Brooke Deyak, Tahoma — Scored a team-high 18 points in win over Kentwood on Tuesday.
Kaylia Heidelberg, Peninsula — Scored eight points in a loss to Woodinville, scored 19 points and added five rebounds and four steals in a win over Capital, and scored 24 points and added nine rebounds, three assists and five steals in a win over Yelm.
Lainee Houillon, Sumner — Posted a double-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds and three steals in a loss to Lake Washington, scored 13 points and added four rebounds, four assists and five steals in a win over South Kitsap and scored 18 points and added three rebounds and three steals in a win over Curtis.
Azy Jackson, Bonney Lake — Posted a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in a win over Spanaway Lake, and posted another double-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, three steals and three blocks in a win over Lincoln.
Grace Lee, North Thurston — Scored 14 points and added six rebounds, four assists and eight steals in a win over Central Kitsap, and posted a double-double with 22 points, 10 steals and six rebounds in a win over River Ridge.
Soraya Ogaldez, North Thurston — Scored 20 points and added six assists and five steals in a win over Central Kitsap, and scored 33 points and added three rebounds, five assists and five steals in a win over River Ridge.
Grace Richardson, Peninsula — Scored 16 points and added five rebounds in a loss to Woodinville, posted a double-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and four steals in a win over Capital and scored 20 points and added eight rebounds and eight assists in a win over Yelm.
Sawyer Schaff, Olympia — Scored a team-high 13 points in loss to Bellarmine on Thursday.
Taylor Schwab, Gig Harbor — Scored 13 points and had three assists and six steals in a win over River Ridge, and scored 29 points and had six rebounds, five assists and five steals in a win over Central Kitsap.
Jazmyn Shipp, Bonney Lake — Scored a game-high 18 points, including 11 points in the first quarter in 3A PCL win over Lincoln on Friday.
Jada Travis, Bellarmine — Scored 27 points, including eight in the fourth quarter in win over Olympia on Thursday.
Tyler Venable, Black Hills — Scored 14 points and added four rebounds and four steals in a win over Elma, and scored 23 points and added three assists in a win over Shelton.
Ciona Wells, Lincoln — Scored a team-high 17 points in loss to Bonney Lake on Friday.
