Rainiers Notes: The Rainiers took the first of a rare 2-day break from the season. Tacoma returns to action Thursday to start an eight-game homestand, hosting the Memphis Redbirds in the first of a fourgame series at Cheney Stadium. The Rainiers have won 9 of their last14 games and are coming off a 4-4 road trip against New Orleans (2-2) and Oklahoma City (2-2). Bryan LaHair and Prentice Redman are tied for the team lead with 10 home runs (T5th in the PCL) and the Rainiers are averaging 1.3 home runs per game. Jeff Clement recorded a hit in all 8 games during the recent road trip, combining to bat .429 (15x35) with 5 runs, 6 doubles, 2 home runs and 7 RBI. Redman has recorded a hit in 10 of his last 11 games to raise his season average to a team-best .324 (48x148). LaHair has hit 4 of his 10 home runs over the last 8 games. Jaxx Notes: The Diamond Jaxx extended their winning streak to a season-high 3 games with a 6-2 win over Birmingham. 1B Ronnie Prettyman went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in the first inning. Starting pitcher Patrick Ryan (2-3) earned his first win since April 24 allowing 6 hits and 2 runs in 5.1 innings. RHP Marwin Vega added 2.2 scoreless innings and LHP Nick Hill recorded his first save of the season (0.2 IP, K). Mavericks Notes: LF Kuo Hui Lo fell a triple shy of the cycle and drove in 4 runs -- one of seven High Desert players to finish with at least 2 RBI -- on Tuesday as the Mavericks cruised to a 19-8 victory over Rancho Cucamonga. RF James McOwen was a homer short of the cycle, going 3-for-6 with 2 RBI. 3B Alex Liddi scored 5 runs and hit his 11th home run of the season in the route. Liddi, who played for Italy in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, is batting .362 (55x152) with 13 doubles, 11 home runs, 37 RBI. Martinez reached on a leadoff single in the fourth, moved to second on a balk and to third on a sacrifice bunt. CF Jake Shaffer chopped a single to center to plate him, giving Clinton a 1-0 lead.
