Two days ago, the Atlanta Braves were asking for a veteran middle of the lineup hitter for Derek Lowe, and weren't open to helping pay anything on the three years and $45 million left on Lowe's contract.
One GM who touched base with the Braves today said the asking price has dropped and Atlanta is now hinting it would send cash along with Lowe to move the former Mariner. That probably tells you all you need to know about the market right now.
Teams have been asking a lot in trade, not getting it. And agents having been demanding a lot and not getting that, either.
