That's right! As the exclusive photo here proves, Erik Bedard has begun working on a stealth return to the Seattle Mariners rotation - in April as a right-handed pitcher, in May as a lefty.
The scoop came today when Bedard was standing in the Mariners bullpen with pitching coach Rick Adair and someone - OK, it was me - said he should get on the mound just so the media could report he'd been on one.
Bedard walked to the rubber, put his right-handed glove on his left hand and picked up a baseball. Nodding to a minor league catcher, Bedard when into a windup and threw the ball right-handed.
"There's your story," Bedard deadpanned. "You get your picture?"
Someone - OK, it was me - said they had. Bedard smiled and wandered off.
Bet Jack Zduriencik can't wait to thank me.
