Those rolling Kansas City Royals - 9-4 with a two-game winning streak against the Seattle Mariners - will face a different lineup today, one that's clearly searching for its identity.
Manager Eric Wedge is giving Milton Bradley the day off, keeping Jack Wilson on the bench one more day, sitting Miguel Olivo and letting Chris Gimenez catch Felix Hernandez.
Meanwhile, Wedge said, the team now realizes center fielder Franklin Gutierrez isn't close to playing baseball again, and is considering sending him to the Mayo Clinic to find the cause - and solution - to the stomach problems that have plagued him nearly a year.
David Aardsma threw a long bullpen session instead of his scheduled simulated two innings, because the Royals didn't make the field available to Seattle, pre-game. If his arm reacts well to the work, he'll likely be sent out on a rehab assignment Monday. Mariners aren't certain where he'll go, only that he needs two or three game before rejoining their bullpen.
