The Seattle Mariners held the New York Yankees to four hits in 12 innings, then got a walk off home run from infielder Luis Rodriguez to win their 62nd game of the season, 2-1.
Jason Vargas went 6 2/3 innings and allowed one run, and his bullpen - Jamey Wright, Brandon League, Tom Wilhelmsen and Steve Delabar - shut the Yankees out the rest of the night.
Wilhelmsen and Delabar, rookies who tended bar and taught school, respectively, showed off in their new chosen professions, with Delabar picking up his first major league win in his second big-league appearance.
The Mariners scored first, on a fourth-inning wild pitch by NY starter Ivan Nova, and the Yankees tied it in the seventh on a two-out home run from Nick Swisher.
