Opening his sixth season as the manager of the Tacoma Rainiers, Daren Brown knows the drill - two days before his team opens the Pacific Coast League season, he awaits three or four more players from the Seattle Mariners.
The last-minute cuts by Seattle will mean players that likely will play prominent roles in Tacoma, but neither Brown nor general manager Jack Zduriencik are positive today who those players will be.
They could be outfielders (Carlos Peguero), infielders (Alex Liddi) or pitchrs (Charlie Furbush, Erasmo Ramirez). It could be a surprise - Steve Delabar, Casper Wells, Kyle Seager.
Bottom line: Brown talked about the Rainiers the other day, without knowing who his final roster would be. Take a listen.
