Just when we thought it was safe to announce the same back-to-back Seattle Mariners lineups, Eric Wedge was forced to make a change - shortstop Brendan Ryan slept wrong last night and had a stiff neck.
That means Japanese infielder Munenori Kawasaki will make his major league debut against the Oakland Athletics.
Earlier this afternoon, Ryan walked through the clubhouse with his lunch and a huge ice pack on his back neck and shoulder. Teammate Kevin Millwood watched him and shook his head.
"How old are you?" Millwood asked.

"I'm 30," Ryan said.
"Good luck," Millwood said.
Ryan then waved a plate with two slices of pizza and said: "At least my diet is good."
