Gutierrez, Wells, Ramirez & Delabar to the rescue

The Seattle Mariners roster underwent more change today than in any all season, with the team adding  outfielders Franklin Gutierrez and Casper Wells - and pitchers Erasmo Ramirez and Steve Delabar - to their 25-man roster.

They replaced outfielder Mike Carp and pitcher Stephen  Pryor, who were placed on the 15-day disabled list, and utility player Alex Liddi and pitcher Blake Beavan, who were optioned to Tacoma.

What's it all mean?

In Gutierrez and Wells, the Mariners now have a pair of right-handed hitters on a team that had been overloaded with lefties - and a better defensive outfield in Gutierrez plays center and Michael Saunders in left field.

Ramirez will slide right into the starting rotation, probably starting on Thursday to give the injured Kevin Millwood a few more days. Delabar returns to the bullpen.
