Pitcher Danny Hultzen and shortstop Nick Franklin arrived at Cheney Stadium around 5 p.m. Wednesday. The two met briefly with Rainiers manager Daren Brown and spoke with media upon being promoted to AAA Tacoma.
UPDATE: Here's my story that ran in Thursday's paper on Hultzen and Franklin.
Hultzen will make his first start for Tacoma on Saturday at Colorado Springs. His first start at Cheney Stadium, barring changes, will be at 7:05 p.m. June 28 against Las Vegas.

Brown said Franklin is available to play tonight. Unless the game goes into extra innings, don't expect Franklin to see the field. He and Hultzen have been traveling all day.Franklin will start at shortstop Thursday, but he'll also see time second base with Tacoma. Carlos Triunfel will continue to play shortstop, but won't see any time at second base, Brown said. When Franklin plays shortstop, Triunfel will DH or sit out.
Here's an interview with Franklin:
Infielder Luis Rodriguez, Tacoma's primary second baseman, is the odd man out here, but Brown said he'll pick up games at third base, first base and the two middle infield spots.
In response to adding Franklin and Hultzen to the Raineirs' roster, Tacoma released OF/1B Johan Limonta and placed Cesar Jimenez on the disabled list.
