Once the future catcher of the franchise, Adam Moore was claimed off waivers from the Seattle Mariners today by the Kansas City Royals, who immediately assigned him to Class AAA.
Moore, 28, played parts of three seasons with Seattle but injuries and inconsistency kept him on a back-and-forth journey through the minors. In 68 big-league games, Moore batted .197 with five home runs and 17 RBI.
His minor league average was over .300, but his future with Seattle was blocked by Miguel Olivo, Jesus Montero and John Jaso.
