Yes, Virginia, there is traffic in the Northwest, and having spent the past two hours in it, I would rather be here at Safeco Field, providing you with today's Seattle Mariners lineup.

There's a new face included, that of trading deadline acquisition Eric  Thames, a left-handed hitting outfielder with power. He'll start in left field and face his former team, the Toronto Blue Jays and right-hander Carlos Cillanueva.

The Seattle outfield tonight: Thames, Michael Saunders and Casper Wells.

John Jaso will catch, Jesus Montero DH and Mike Carp will play first base as Blake Beavan tries to extend a personal winning streak to four games - and a Mariners streak to seven.

A team that struggled at home in the first half of the season, the Mariners have lifted their record at Safeco Field to 24-29. Hey, it's a massive improvement.
