Before Monday's game in Baltimore, the Mariners activated right-handed pitcher Erasmo Ramirez from the 15-day disabled list and then optioned him to the Rainiers.
Ramirez, who had experienced elbow discomfort in a June 30 start against Boston, had been on a rehab assignment in Triple-A, and will stay there for now. In three starts for the Rainiers, Ramirez went 1-0 with a 5.11 ERA in 12 1/3 innings. In his start Saturday against Oklahoma City, he did not allow an earned run in six innings.
In two stints with the Mariners this season, Ramirez is 0-2 with a 3.82 ERA in 11 games, including four starts.
