The Mariners have made a hire in their internal scouting and development system. GM Jack Zduriencik and director of international operations Tim Kissner announced the hiring of Eddy Toledo as director of Dominican Operations.
Toledo has worked in baseball for over 30 years of baseball experience with both the New York Mets (1981-2006) and Tampa Bay Rays (2006-2012). He is credited with signing over 30 future Major League players.
“We are very excited to add Eddy as our Director of Dominican Operations,” Kissner said. “Eddy is a much respected scout and his experience, record of signing Major League players and ability to represent the Mariners in a first class manner, make him the perfect individual for this job.”
Toledo most recently served as Tampa Bay’s Director of Dominican Republic Operations after spending 26 years in the New York Mets organization as its Director of Dominican Operations.
