More bad news for the Mariners as they announced that hard-throwing reliever Stephen Pryor has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a tear in his right lattismus dorsi (lat).
Pryor left yesterday’s game with two outs in the top of the 8th inning after getting Nelson Cruz to fly out to right field. Pryor felt discomfort the batter before that, but decided to leave the game as it progressively got worse.
He pitched 1 1/3 innings , and didn't allow a run with two strikeouts and a walk.
Pryor underwent further tests today, and was examined by Mariners medical director, Dr. Edward Khalfayan.

The Mariners will announce the roster move tomorrow. The current relievers on the 40-man roster that could be called up are Lucas Luetge, Yoervis Medina and Chance Ruffin has MLB relief experience though he's transitioning to a starter. If the Mariners decided to go with a non-roster player, Danny Fahrquar, Logan Bawcom or Brian Sweeney are possibilities..
Pryor, 23, has made seven appearances in the Mariners' first 14 games this season. He has not given up a run in 7.1 innings pitched, while allowing just three hits and striking out seven and walking one.
