The Reno curse is over the for the Tacoma Rainiers. Thanks to a big night from Eric Thames, t he Rainiers won for the first time in the "biggest little city on earth" since 2011.
Thames was 2-for-4 with a mammoth two-run homer and four RBI. Franklin Gutierrez also hit a home run. Jesus Montero, who was making his second start at first base, went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple (that's not a typo).
Shortstop Brad Miller made his Triple A debut, going 0-for-3 with two walks.
