Worth mentioning: There are 1.28 miles of energy-absorbing SAFER barrier around Kansas Speedway – the longest length of protective barrier of any track in NASCAR. This weekend also marks the first night-time NASCAR races at the track.
Who’s Hot/Who’s Not
Denny Hamlin: Won his first restrictor-plate race and pretty much earned a berth in the Chase.
Greg Biffle: Ran as competitive at Talladega as he has anywhere this season.
A.J. Allmendinger: Already has as many Top-10 finishes as his team earned all of last season.
